PMC 12 SUB XBD - Active Subwoofer

The PMC12 SUBXBD is engineered to augment the low-frequency performance of the PMC12 active three-way monitor, forming a PMC12 XBD system that increases overall headroom while improving low-frequency linearity and consistency within the listening environment. Configuration options include vertical tower or horizontal side-by-side arrangements, with either free-standing or soffit-mounted installation, providing flexibility across a wide range of control-room designs.

The PMC12 SUBXBD utilises the same 12-inch long-throw bass driver found in the PMC12 master monitor, ensuring transient accuracy and tonal continuity. This driver is integrated with PMC’s latest-generation Advanced Transmission Line enclosure, which incorporates LaminairX™ airflow technology to minimise turbulence and associated acoustic artefacts at high SPLs. The result is an extended low-frequency output with ultra-low harmonic distortion across the operating range.

Amplification, signal management, and system control are provided by the existing PMC12 master36 electronics platform, so no additional amplification is required. The configurable amplifier delivers up to 1000 W, while retaining all the benefits of this sophisticated system, including transparent excursion limiting for driver protection and precision room-optimisation equalisation. System configuration and control are handled over a standard LAN connection via SoundAlign2, PMC’s browser-based control interface.
