PMC 12 - Active Subwoofer

The PMC12 SUB is designed to supplement any PMC monitoring system as an independent low-frequency subwoofer. Like its sibling models, the PMC12 SUB shares the latest-generation ATL™ Advanced Transmission Line cabinet with the full-range PMC12, with LaminairX™ airflow venting, but lacks that model’s tweeter and midrange drivers. The single LF driver is PMC’s newly developed, in-house 12-inch bass driver featuring double-stacked magnets, a three-inch, three-layer voice coil, and a highly stable suspension. This design maintains linear motor force over an extended pistonic excursion, resulting in ultra-low distortion at all monitoring levels and performance that matches that of typical 15-inch systems.

The subwoofer is controlled and powered by PMC’s master36 rack-mountable DSP/Amplifier unit, which delivers 1000W to the bass driver from its ultra-transparent Class-D amplification. Integrated DSP offers precision digital high and low-pass filters optimised for the PMC12 SUB’s bespoke LF driver, along with transparent excursion limiting for system protection, and comprehensive room-optimisation EQ. The system accepts both analogue and digital inputs and can be controlled over a standard LAN via the SoundAlign2 browser-based interface.

Where greater LF power and headroom are required, a second PMC12 SUB can be daisy-chained and powered from the same master36 for a total of 2000W.
