Studio "Freiaudio" Klagenfurt

Mar 21, 2003

Austrian based Freiaudio has equipped its production control room with 5.1 surround sound monitoring, comprising PMC AML-1 high resolution active monitors and PMC TLE1 sub, supplied by PMC's Austrian distributor, AviTech.

Newly constructed in an old house in the centre of the Carinthian capital Klagenfurt, Freiaudio is a privately owned music and media production facility, offering 'uncompromising technical facilities within a perfect acoustic environment'. The studio features a 30 square meter control room and an 18 square meter recording area designed by Tonarchitektur Willensdorfer. PMC monitoring was selected as conforming to the very high standards of studio design.

"We chose this PMC installation through a process of comparative listening tests, in addition to the numerous recommendations and our own previous experience with PMC installations in other studios," explains owner Andreas Frei. "We are very happy with the resultant sound quality in the room, and with the service we have received."

Studio activities encompass both music production and sound for picture applications; including recording, surround sound mixing and encoding, film scoring, and a range of audio post services for film television and video, such as sound FX, foley, voiceover and ADR. Additionally Freiaudio supplies sound design and engineering services for concert and festival sound, musical theatre, classical, opera and event production.
